Edging and orgasm without ejaculation

Four people said edging before sleep (stopping short of orgasm) kept wet dreams away, with one saying they had none the night after. One also noted that long stretches of masturbating without orgasm cut nightfall but can mess with your discipline, and another said it's better to avoid it.

A few people said that if they edge and stop short of orgasm, they get little to no symptoms; one said never going over the edge is the only way they avoid them.

A few people said squeezing their pelvic floor muscles (the ones used in Kegels) right before ejaculation, so that no semen came out, made symptoms much milder afterwards. One said symptoms dropped by about 80%; another said only very mild POIS was left.

Two people mentioned edging, meaning masturbating but stopping before ejaculation. One said it's the only way they can get past POIS effects and the mental urges; the other said it kept them from having wet dreams but that it's still better avoided.

One person guessed that edging, stopping before full ejaculation, might help by reducing how much semen is released. It was only a suspicion; no one reported trying it.

Someone passed on that a person had their ejaculatory ducts cauterized so no semen is released, and their symptoms reportedly disappeared completely; the source was a small documentary. This is second-hand and a high-risk procedure — any surgery needs assessment by a specialist.

Someone passed on that a user on the POIS forums had their prostate reduced and seminal vesicles removed to cut seminal fluid, and said symptoms dropped drastically. This is second-hand and a high-risk procedure — any surgery needs assessment by a specialist.

One person said they used edging, stopping arousal just before orgasm without ejaculating, to prevent wet dreams. No schedule or further detail was given.

One person said that by strengthening their Kegel muscles and edging, they get the same pleasure without ejaculating, and found it far better than the usual 'one and done'. They didn't describe any change in symptoms.

One person said that as long as they don't ejaculate, they can edge, watch porn and leak pre-cum without getting wet dreams that night or after, which is a huge relief. It was described as a ten-year routine; another account was to stop both porn and edging.

One person said they always take Viagra or Cialis plus L-citrulline and always stop before they cum, and have no problems that way. After masturbating to porn and ejaculating the day before, though, they said POIS was back in full swing. Personal report only — check with a doctor before using medication or supplements.

One person said they do this often: stop well before feeling close to ejaculating, and over time control gets better. Sex is still enjoyable, they said, but nowhere near as good as before.

One post said a dry orgasm, with no semen released, brought no POIS symptoms, while normal ejaculation did, and seemed worse the more semen came out. It is a single observation; no one else reported back.

One post mentioned having sex without reaching orgasm or ejaculating, as a way to avoid ejaculation as a trigger. No one reported a clear result.

Some people mentioned edging — stopping stimulation just before ejaculation — to reach orgasm without ejaculating, with the idea that symptoms last a shorter time. No one reported a clear result.

One poster said masturbating once a week without ejaculating, to cut down on wet dreams, kept them symptom-free; some added pelvic floor (PC) exercises afterward. Others warned that edging may cause irritation or inflammation and won't suit everyone. If it causes discomfort, it's worth stopping and asking a doctor.

One person switched to a water-free dimethicone lube and changed how they masturbated, avoiding the frenulum and stimulating only the glans to cut down on overstimulation. They said ejaculation felt very different and the 'energy' inside felt released, but overall it did not end up helping.

Someone described staying aroused for a long time without ejaculating, resting an hour or two, then letting orgasm happen without forcing or rushing it. So far no one has reported a clear result.

One post described massaging or stimulating the glans for about 10 minutes before ejaculating to bring arousal down, then ejaculating at minimal arousal. The poster said POIS fully went away when they did this consistently; no one else has reported on it.

One post described tightening the PC muscle (a Kegel squeeze) right at the moment of ejaculation to stop the semen from coming out. The poster said brain fog and blurry eyes did not follow; no one else has reported on it, and doing it correctly may take practice.
